About Us

The venue at FMC Park is located north of the Gate City. It rests on a 20-acre, grass-covered and tree-lined park nestled near the Portneuf River. A central playground with swings and some playground toys offers a great place for children and youth to stay occupied. The venue has served the Gate City community for decades, originally as a park for FMC employees and later as spot for picnics, family reunions, weddings and other gatherings. Shady Grove got its name in part, thanks to the plethora of large elm, cottonwood and willow trees at the venue that offer an oasis of shade. The trees provide ample shade and a respite from the hot July sun. 

Numerous resident peacocks wander freely around the site and the males are a beautiful sight to behold when they open up their feathers. You may even find a peacock tail feather as you shake your own. Because of the peacocks, the only dogs allowed at this event are credentialed service animals. We also ask that you admire the peacocks from afar and refrain from touching them.
